A focus on design and green space
The design responds to the existing and evolving surrounding townscape. Along Alexandria Road, buildings use articulated brickwork and muted tones that echo nearby terraces. Taller elements are positioned beside the station and the railway, close to proposed tall buildings at 55 West and Hastings Road and step down towards neighbouring housing to the west of the site.
The development also prioritises green space. Nearly 4,600 sqm (around 49,514 sq ft) of podium landscaped areas are provided, including close to 3,000 sqm (around 32,292 sq ft) of private communal amenity. A new public square will host community events and markets, while rain gardens and planting bring biodiversity and soften the streetscape along Alexandria Road. Six distinct residential buildings are arranged to maximise daylight and create pockets of greenery.
